The Washington State Lottery has been engaged with the complex and important question of what it means as an organization with goals to assess and strengthen its Culture of Belonging as an organization. In 2023, The Athena Group collaborated with WA Lottery to launch a community engagement project to deepen staff experiences and understanding, galvanize support, manage complex change, and meaningfully intervene.
This initiative aligned with the Lottery’s ongoing Pro-Equity Anti-Racism (PEAR) efforts in support of Washington’s Office of Equity and their vision to create a state where everyone has full access to the opportunities, power, and resources they need to flourish and achieve their full potential, for the next seven generations and beyond.
